Dropout Detective – Roll Call Integration

New Feature: Integration with Roll Call Attendance

We are pleased to announce that we have successfully integrated to the Roll Call attendance tool in Canvas! This provides the opportunity for you to take advantage of a set of new features in Dropout Detective, including:

  • One single report that includes all attendance for all desired courses for the entire term (not just the last 7 days)
    • With the option to limit the report to a specific number of days (14 days, 30 days, etc.)
  • Automatic delivery of our attendance file to a FTP server on a daily basis (no more requesting reports from within Canvas, waiting for the email, downloading the file, saving the file, etc.)
  • Can be a stand-alone service or used in conjunction with Dropout Detective
  • Attendance is not limited to only the courses supported by Dropout Detective. You may include attendance for those courses – or select an entirely different group of courses to obtain attendance reports on.
  • If used in conjunction with Dropout Detective, we’ve introduced a ‘latest attendance date’ column in the student profile

*** Course SIS ID must be populated in Canvas in order to take advantage of the Attendance features.

In addition, if you have the attendance features enabled in Dropout Detective, you will also have access to a new Attendance tab in the student profile. The attendance tab includes the number of class periods in which attendance has been recorded, the number of times the student has attended, the percentage of attendance, and the date of the most recent absence.

Would these features be helpful to you? Reach out and let us know! We’re happy to talk with you about enabling these features in your account. At the current time, there is no additional cost to display attendance information in Dropout Detective. Additional fees may be charged for the delivery of files to a FTP server. Please contact us for more information!

Did you know….

We can also automate the delivery of your existing Statistics CSV file. That file contains the latest submission date of an academic activity by a student in each course. For online courses, this is frequently used by financial aid to determine the student’s LDA (last date of attendance). Many of our clients have that file delivered to a FTP server to be absorbed by the SIS for the recording of attendance in online courses. If you are interested in this service, please let us know!
