AspirEDU Announces Expanded Support by Dropout Detective™ for Advisors and for Face-to-Face Courses
AspirEDU, a leading provider of student retention and instructor performance analytics, announced that it has released important new functionality to support academic advisors and instructors of face-to-face courses.
AspirEDU’s Dropout Detective analyzes the behavior and academic success of the student population by reviewing LMS data on a daily basis. Dropout Detective provides dashboards to administrators, advisors and instructors that identify students that are at risk of dropping out or failing courses. The new software release allows schools to make changes in advisor assignments that rebuild the advisors’ dashboards in real time.
“So many school personnel are responsible for subsets of students. We have made it easy for academic advisors, athletic coaches, special ed teachers and other educators to each have personalized dashboards of just their students,” said Kimberley Munzo, President and CEO of AspirEDU, Inc. “This allows schools to offer better support to their students by prioritizing the ones that need the most immediate outreach. Putting the right data in the right hands is extremely important.”
Dropout Detective has also released the ability for instructors to manually flag at-risk students and automatically send alerts to the appropriate advisors. This builds on a key capability that the solution has always featured – automated identification of struggling students.
“We built Dropout Detective to use data to identify at-risk students. That was the hard part,” said Don VanDemark, Chief Technology Officer. “Our clients wanted our same capabilities extended to courses that did not use the LMS as fully and we are happy to make ‘Advisor Alerts’ available.”
